Robert Meyer
Publisher Robert Meyer has 30 years of territory sales, sales management, marketing, product development and general management experience in the K-12 publishing industry. Prior to co-founding Ventris in 2013, Meyer worked as Wisconsin Account Executive for the Scholastic Corporation, VP of School Sales at Failure Free Reading, Sales & Marketing Director at Knowledge Unlimited, Director of Educational Services at MetaMetrics, and Business Development Manager for Advantage Learning Systems. Earlier in his career, Meyer worked in a national business development role for Micro-Surface Finishing Products, and in regional sales positions for Air & Water Technologies. Meyer holds music education and MBA degrees from the University of Iowa.
Carmen Georgeson
Carmen is our general manager and director of accounting. She comes to us with 25 years of experience in accounting and over 15 years experience in management and senior staff accounting roles with companies in bio-technology, agricultural, outdoor retail and property management. We have leaned into her knowledge for implementing software and processes to ensure our continued success is grounded in best practice accounting. Georgeson holds her bachelor’s in accounting from UW-Eau Claire. She also enjoys outdoor activities in her free time. You can find her in her garden, or biking on the road, trails or fat-tire depending on the season.
Maura Moyle
Maura Moyle, Ph.D., CCC-SLP is Associate Professor Emerita at Marquette University in the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology. Her interests include language and literacy development and disorders, culturally and linguistically fair language assessment, and professional development for educators. She received her B.S. in Anthropology and M.S. and Ph.D. in Communicative Disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Moyle was Principal Investigator of the Wisconsin Reading Acquisition Program (WRAP), an Early Reading First project funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Her research has been published in numerous academic journals, including American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology, Journal of Research in Reading, Annals of Dyslexia, Clinical Linguistics and Phonetics, and Language, Speech and Hearing Services in Schools.
Steve Tardrew
Steve has over 28 years of experience in the educational assessment and technology spaces. As Vice President of Product Development at Ventris Learning, Steve leads our efforts to develop new digital products and to conduct standardization and efficacy research in schools and speech-language pathology clinics across the U.S. and world. Before joining Ventris Learning, Steve has held various senior leadership positions in research, product development, technology, and analytics at McGraw Hill, Achieve3000, Rowland Reading Foundation, and Renaissance Learning. Earlier in his career, he served as Economist for the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, where he helped launch the agency’s first electronic data collection initiative. He holds a BA in Economics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a MA in Economics from University of Illinois at Chicago.
Laura Carr
Laura is responsible for ensuring the educator and classroom perspective are represented in Ventris Learning products. She has been involved in education for the last 20 years, starting as a classroom teacher in Savannah, Georgia, in 2004. Since then, she has taught pre-k, 2nd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade Math & Science, 6th grade Math & Science, 7th grade ELA, 8th grade ELA, 9th grade ELA & Spanish I, 10th grade ELA, 11th grade ELA, and 12th grade AP Literature and Language Arts. Laura has worked as a teacher in Georgia, California, Wisconsin, and Illinois, and as a tutor and substitute teacher in California, Delaware, Virginia, and Puerto Rico. Laura received a Bachelor of Arts from The George Washington University and a master’s degree in Elementary Education, teaching certification, and Multilanguage Learner Certification from the University of Phoenix. She also completed the AP Language Arts instructor class at UCLA extension. Since joining Ventris Learning in 2023, Laura has worked in both customer service and project management roles.
Sarah Neustadter
Sarah came to Ventris Learning with over 25 years of experience in working various roles in customer service, which has allowed her to shift into a role at Ventris Learning seamlessly. She is passionate about the customer! Sarah is the point of contact for reviewing, accepting, placing and acknowledging orders, as well as responding to inquiries, answering questions, and assisting with anything she is able to, and if not, connecting the customer with someone who can.
Andrea Barr
Andrea is living the dream as a work from home dog mom. When she isn’t busy plugging away in accounts receivable, you can find her somewhere outdoors with her two Samoyeds and woolly Shiba Inu. Their favorite places include, but are not limited to: Perrot State Park, Kohler Andre State Park, Amnicon Falls State Park, and any area that allows for some off-leash time.
