Dr. Laurie Gauger
Dr. Laurie Gauger is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Florida. Dr. Gauger teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in language development and disorders. In addition, she directs the UF Reading Disabilities Program where children receive evaluations and intervention for reading disabilities. With over 30 years of clinical experience in speech-language pathology, Dr. Gauger is also a clinical instructor of graduate students in speech-language pathology and supervises 4-5 students per year. She holds Florida licensure and the certificate clinical competency from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. For six years, Dr. Gauger served as Director of the Bachelor of Health Science Program in Communication Sciences and Disorders, overseeing UF’s campus and online programs. Finally, Dr. Gauger is involved in clinical research and mentors undergraduate honors students who are completing research projects in the area of reading development and disorders.
Dr. Danika Pfeiffer
Dr. Danika Pfeiffer is an Assistant Professor in Speech-Language Pathology at Old Dominion University and a certified speech-language pathologist. She is Principal Investigator of the Collaboration in Research for Children’s Language and Literacy Lab. Her primary research interest is in enhancing young children’s early language and literacy skills through collaborative school-based partnerships. She has presented her research at the state, national, and international levels and authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications. Danika is also the Editor of Perspectives SIG 16: School Based Issues and serves on the SIG 16 Coordinating Committee. She works closely with other scientists and clinicians as a volunteer collaborator with CSDisseminate. Their work aims to enhance research accessibility, rigor, and transparency in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders and beyond.
