Brain Prep for Pre-Readers
Ventris Learning is Rock ‘n’ Read Project’s publishing partner for A Song A Day: Brain Prep for Pre-Readers, a PreK/K curriculum for 4-, 5-, and 6-year-olds. It is the only curriculum specifically designed and sequenced to use singing and music-making to develop young brains for reading. The curriculum includes 50 fun, short, easy-to-follow lessons that use singing and music-making to develop auditory processing, auditory memory, phonological awareness, and beat synchronization. Substantial research has found that these competencies are correlated with reading proficiency. Ideally, the lessons are taught one-a-day, in order from 1 to 50 to provide ample practice of 17 foundational pre-reading skills.
