How it Works
To use Monster, P.I., a school or district first purchases a subscription to the web-based teacher rostering & reporting application. Then, students download the app from the Apple app store at no additional charge. Once each teacher has an account, and has signed in, he or she rosters their students (using the “Student Roster” tab) so that the system can generate a passcode for each student. Teachers enter students line by line in the web page, or, by importing an Excel file. Note: detailed teacher instructions are available in the application and also at a password-protected Monster, P.I. document at ventrislearning.com/ventris-learning-login.
To have students play through Monster, P.I., the teacher then opens the app on the iPad or device that the student will use. Once the app connects with the server, students can take the assessment with OR without a reliable wifi connection and their scores are stored locally until the wifi connection can be made again. Multiple students can take turns completing Monster, P.I. using the same device. Some students can finish the app in as little as 20-25 minutes, while others up to 45 minutes to finish. Teachers view the student results which include instructional profiles useful for grouping students.
